Helpo (operated by Cellco) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Helpo mobile app or admin web panel, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
When you use Helpo, we collect:
- Account information — username, email, name, and (for voucher users) the voucher code you enter to authenticate to a hotspot.
- Device information — device identifier, model, OS version, and app version, used to bind your account to a single device for hotspot security.
- Network information — IP address, network type, VPN/tethering status, and connection metadata, used to enforce hotspot terms and detect abuse.
- Push notification tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, used to deliver in-app notifications.
- Usage logs — login attempts, hotspot session duration, and error reports, used to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and provide hotspot internet access
- To enforce single-device-per-voucher security policies
- To deliver service notifications (account changes, network events)
- To detect security threats and prevent network abuse
- To respond to support requests sent to dev@cellco.io
3. Information sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Firebase / Google Cloud — for push notification delivery and crash reporting
- Backblaze B2 — for encrypted database backups
- The MikroTik hotspot equipment at the venue you are connecting to, for the purpose of granting network access
- Law enforcement — only when legally required by a valid subpoena or court order
4. Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Login logs are retained for 90 days. One-time passwords are deleted after 2 days. Push notification tokens are pruned after 90 days of inactivity. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
6. Children
Helpo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Security
We protect your data with encrypted transport (HTTPS / TLS 1.2+), encrypted database backups, JWT-based session authentication, and role-based access control on administrative endpoints. Sessions are revocable in real time when a security event occurs.
8. Third-party services
The Helpo mobile app uses Google Sign-In (optional) and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Their use of your information is governed by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Helpo app or by email. Continued use of Helpo after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
